LUBBOCK, Texas — Local business owner and ministry leader Heather Garcia formally announced her campaign for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1 during a kickoff event at Hillcrest Country Club.
Garcia spoke about her reasons for running in a press release from the campaign. “I’m running because our community deserves leadership that upholds the law with truth,compassion, and integrity,” she said. “Justice should be firm, but never cold. Every caserepresents a person, a family, and a story—and I intend to serve with a willingness to listenand a commitment to doing what’s right.”

Later in the press release, she laid out her three guiding principles for the campaign, which include ‘righteous leadership, fairness and accountability and community-centered service.’
