TWC awards $149,808 grant to Workforce Solutions South Plains

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Texas Workforce Commission on Thursday awarded a $149,808 High Demand Job Training grant to Workforce Solutions South Plains in partnership with the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance.

TWC Chairman Joe Esparza presented the ceremonial check during an event at the Wells Fargo Building in downtown Lubbock.

The grant will support training for 549 students from six surrounding school districts, preparing them for high-demand fields including agriculture, energy, construction, welding, machining and culinary arts.
