The Lubbock Ghostbusters have spent years showing up for this community, and now they’re the ones who could use a little backup.
I have personal experience with the Lubbock Ghostbusters, and I can say without hesitation that they are the real deal. I hired them as a photo op for my haunted houses, and they were an absolute hit. From the moment they arrived, they were fully engaged, interacting with guests, posing for photos, cracking jokes, and making the experience better for everyone involved. After their first visit to the park, the conversation quickly turned to, “When can we get you guys back?” That’s how strong the impression was.
What makes the Lubbock Ghostbusters special isn’t just the jumpsuits or the proton packs — it’s the heart behind what they do. In fact, I’m actually the exception, not the rule. Most of the time, the Lubbock Ghostbusters show up for free. They support Lubbock charities, community events, fundraisers, and appearances simply because they want to make people smile. Kids light up when they see them. Adults instantly feel a wave of nostalgia. They truly “do it for the smiles,” and that’s a rare and admirable thing these days.
Why the Lubbock Ghostbusters Need Help Right Now
Unfortunately, smiles don’t pay the bills — and right now, the guys are facing a tough situation. Their iconic Ectomobile needs a new engine. While trying to preserve the life of the vehicle, a step was missed, and through no malicious fault or reckless behavior, the engine was blown. It’s one of those nightmare scenarios any vehicle owner dreads, made even worse by the fact that this car isn’t just transportation — it’s the centerpiece of everything they do.
The cost of repairs is significant, and it’s not something they can easily absorb on their own. To help cover the expense, the Lubbock Ghostbusters have set up a GoFundMe to get the Ectomobile repaired and back on the road where it belongs…
