Lubbock’s ‘Loop the Lake’ announces it’s 35th year

LUBBOCK, Texas — The RUNLBK and West Texas Running club are partnering together to host their 35th annual Loop the Lake, the morning of Saturday, January 10, around the Hodges Park and Buddy Holly Rec Area.

The Loop the Lake has been in Lubbock since 1992, the Landwer House on Cesar Chavez Dr will be the starting line for the race. The start time will be at 10 a.m., bids will be picked up at 8:45 a.m. – 9:40 a.m., on the day of the race

KLBK Wednesday AM Weather Update (12/24/25)

Runners will be able to choose between two distances of 2 miles or 5 miles, each distance has an age requirement, as follows:

  • Ages 7 and up — 2 mile Run and Walk
  • Ages 13 and up — 5 mile Run
  • Ages 18 and up — 2 miles Strollers

There is no race day registration or refunds, registration must be done prior to the race date. Entry fees are as follows:

  • $8 — West Texas Running Club Members
  • $8 — Non-member kids ages 7-12
  • $20 — Non-members
