In a statement to EverythingLubbock.com on Wednesday, LCSO said it was called on Tuesday morning to the 8700 block of 151st Street. The caller initially reported at least 20 deceased dogs in the road. The caller was concerned the dogs were getting abandoned and hit by cars and said this was an ongoing issue, with 20 to 25 dogs being the total number throughout the ongoing issue. The Animal Control Officer drove a two-mile stretch of that road and found four deceased dogs that had been hit by cars. Officials spoke with the caller who repeated they wanted LCSO to know this was an ongoing problem.
