Truck driver indicted in I-27 crash that seriously hurt 2 Lubbock deputies

LUBBOCK, Texas — Gregory Vaught, 57, was charged and indicted with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon in connection with a crash on I-27 that left two Lubbock deputies seriously hurt back in September.

EverythingLubbock.com previously reported on September 8 around 9:45 a.m., deputies Andrew Cavazos and Jorge Martinez were helping a stranded motorist with a flat tire. A lawsuit previously stated Vaught, a truck driver for Roth Products, was distracted on his phone and crashed into the patrol vehicles as the deputies finished the job.
