Lubbock woman from Venezuela celebrating Maduro’s capture

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – With Nicolas Maduro out of power, many Venezuelans are left with questions and uncertainties.

Concetta Di Silvestre was born in Valencia, Venezuela and moved to the U.S. eleven years ago. She has been a resident of Lubbock for the last year and a half. She says when she first heard the news of Maduro’s capture, she could not believe it.

“One of the first messages I received was from my sister in law saying, they took my president, so I was confused, and then I decided to call my mom and told her, hey what is going on, so she said oh my God I have been calling you, and they took maduro and his wife cecilia flores, and I said what do you mean, and she said, yes, they took him, so we are going to be free soon,” Di Silvestre said…
