LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Our warm conditions will give way to a notable shift in the weather over the next 48 hours. Rain is likely Wednesday night, then wind Thursday, followed by an arctic cold front Friday. The cold air may even be accompanied by some light wintry showers.
Rain Chance Tonight
Rain is likely at times tonight. Amounts will be light, generally less than a tenth of an inch. The exception is over the eastern viewing area where some thunder is possible. Amounts up to around a quarter inch may be possible with any thunderstorms. Severe weather is not expected in the KCBD/FOX34 viewing area.
The scattered rain showers are moving west to east across the region overnight. The most likely time for rain in central areas, including Lubbock, is from around midnight until about 4 AM. Rain may linger until about sunrise over the eastern viewing area.
