Cases of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, more commonly referred to as bird flu, are on the rise across the Texas Panhandle including Lubbock and Potter Counties.
While no recent official cases have been confirmed in Hale County, multiple dead waterfowl have been spotted across the City of Plainview, most commonly at Travis Trussell Park.
Bird flu is highly contagious and often deadly to birds.
