Governor Abbott appoints Judy Parker as chief justice of Seventh Court of Appeals

AMARILLO, Texas (KCBD) – Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Judy C. Parker as Chief Justice of the Seventh Court of Appeals. Her term will expire on December 31, 2026.

Chief Justice Parker brings more than thirty years of judicial experience to the role. Prior to joining the Court of Appeals in 2017, she served as Judge of Lubbock’s County Court at Law Number 3 from 2008 to 2017 and as Associate Judge of Lubbock County from 1994 to 2008.

Chief Justice Parker began her legal career as an associate at Purdom Law Offices, P.C., in Lubbock, where she practiced general civil litigation for more than nine years.
