Former Smith County Judge injured, husband killed in West Texas crash

LUBBOCK, Texas (KETK) – Former 321st District Court Judge Carole Clark was severely injured and her husband former Smith County District Attorney AD Clark III died in a car crash while returning to Texas from a trip to New Mexico recently.

According to current 321st District Court Judge Robert Wilson, Carole was travelling with her husband AD when their vehicle crashed and AD was killed. The crash left Carole with broken ribs and a head injury.

Wilson said Carole is currently being treated for her injuries at a hospital in Lubbock.

“PLEASE pray hard for God’s healing power to help Judge and for AD to be a peace,” Wilson said. “I hate having to share this awful news but Judge Clark is an icon of our legal community and she needs our support right now.”

Carole was re-elected to her last term in 2014 after winning that year’s Republican Primary and she left office when that term ended in 2018…
