Lubbock police give update on crashes, calls during winter storm

Lubbock patrol officers responded to more than 30 vehicle collisions over the weekend as icy rain and snow brought on by Winter Storm Fern blanketed the city.

However, police officials say the number of crashes spiked considerably between 7 a.m. Monday and 11 a.m. Tuesday at 42 crashes as the precipitation the storm brought waned and stopped.
