Lubbock man sentenced for role in infant son’s death

A 25-year-old man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for failing to get his 5-month-old son immediate medical attention after suffering internal injuries that would eventually kill the child two years ago.

Casey Harbison, who has been held at the Lubbock County Detention Center since his May 10, 2024 arrest, pleaded guilty last week to a count of causing injury to a child by omission, a second-degree felony that carries a punishment of two to 20 years in prison.

He was initially charged with a count of aggravated assault of a household member causing serious bodily injury with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony that carries a punishment of five years to life in prison…
