Lubbock Cooper senior attacked at bonfire, suffers severe injuries

LUBBOCK, Texas — DeTayevion Lang, a senior at Lubbock Cooper High School, attended a bonfire on January 17th with two female students. The party was on Woodrow Road and across the street from Liberty High School.

During the bonfire, things seemed to be going smooth until later in the night when one of his friends was being confronted by a woman who use to attend Monterey High School and eventually Lang had enough and said, “They are not going to do this.”

After the comment he made, a crowd of people were gathered around them, and cameras were pulled out to record what was happening and that’s when Lang said the woman accused him of hitting her.

“I’m like, how did I hit you? You then see a hand coming from that left side of the group, pushing me towards her, and all the dudes that was on the left side, and even kind of from the back too. They just sort of all hop in on me, I got brutally attacked from that, Lang said…
