Amarillo National Bank and the Ware family on Tuesday announced a $1 million donation to Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center to expand pediatric specialty care in Amarillo, an investment leaders say will keep more children close to home for critical treatment.
The donation, presented during a Feb. 10 event at the Texas Tech Physicians pediatric clinic, is the first major contribution toward a planned $10 million Pediatric Fund of Excellence aimed at recruiting and retaining pediatric specialists and expanding access to care across the Texas Panhandle.
