Lubbock residents are being reminded that they can play an active role in keeping their schools and neighborhoods safe.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is encouraging Texans, including those here in Lubbock, to download and use the iWatchTexas reporting tool. The program gives everyday citizens a quick and confidential way to report suspicious behavior that could pose a threat to public safety.
What Is iWatchTexas?
iWatchTexas is a statewide reporting system that allows people to flag suspicious activities that may indicate criminal behavior, potential terroristic threats, or concerns related to school safety.
Reports can be submitted in three ways:
-
Through the free iWatchTexas mobile app
-
Online at iwatchtx.org
-
By calling 1-844-643-2251
Submitting a tip typically takes less than five minutes. Once received, trained law enforcement analysts review the information. Reports are confidential, and while contact information is optional, providing it can help investigators follow up if more details are needed.
