Brookshire Grocery CEO Brad Brookshire retiring after 49 years

TYLER, Tx. (KTAL/KMSS) — The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Brookshire Grocery Company has announced his retirement.

Brookshire Grocery gives $80K in food to Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana

Brad Brookshire, the grandson of company founder W.T. Brookshire, is stepping down after spending 49 years with the company. For the past two decades, Brookshire has served as Chairman of the Board and, for 10 years, as CEO.

According to the Brookshire Grocery Company, Brookshire oversaw the operations of 220 stores in four states – Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma – with three distribution centers. More than 17,000 individuals are currently employed by Brookshire Grocery Company.

“From growing up in this company and watching my grandfather lead the company, to stepping into the shoes myself, it has been the greatest honor to be Chairman and CEO of Brookshire Grocery Company,” Brookshire said in the press release. “BGC’s success has always been driven by our employee-partners, our customers, and our communities, and I’m thankful for the support that has carried this company forward for nearly a century.”…
