LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – More than four years after groundwork began, Loop 88 is moving into a new phase you’ll actually be able to drive on.
TxDot’s Dianah Coronado says crews are finishing sections 3A and 3B of segment three, which stretches from Avenue U to Chicago Avenue.
“We are very close to opening up the main lanes on Loop 88,” Coronado said. “We’re anticipating maybe mid to late April when those lanes will be opened and traffic will be allowed to be placed on there, but we do still have some work to do.”
That last round of work includes lighting and large overhead guide signs, and while there is more work to do, it’s all wrapping up months ahead of the original November deadline…
