CROSBY COUNTY, Texas (KCBD) – Sergio Aviles pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide in connection with a crash near the western edge of Ralls that killed a 71-year-old Hobbs woman.
Since Aviles is originally from Mexico, attorney Michael Sales says he could face deportation and would not be allowed to return to the states without facing criminal action.
On August 6, 2025, Aviles was driving a semi truck southwest on U.S. 62 approaching the intersection with U.S. 82. Crash investigators say he drove past a stop sign and struck a pickup truck in the intersection. Both vehicles caught on fire…
