Paris Croisserie Bakery and Cafe receive a West Texas welcome

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Hub City is giving a warm, West Texas welcome to a new place offering a taste of Paris, France near 82nd Street and Milwaukee Avenue. Paris Croisserie Bakery and Cafe opened in February, and has been busy serving authentic French croissants, pastries and coffee.

Owners, Nick Wei and Mai Chen said they really enjoy their work, especially baking. However, that doesn’t mean it’s an easy job. The pair told Everythinglubbock.com they get into work a few hours before Paris Croisserie opens to finish preparing the pastries, which they start the night before. Altogether, they said making croissants alone takes about five or six hours.

“We turn the flour into the dough, then into the croissant; it’s different than a pre-made one,” Chen said. “Our cream, or everything, it’s not like we can buy it, we make it.”…
