Police release update after 2 people shot in Central Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Police Department released an update after two people were shot on Wednesday morning in the 2400 block of 46th Street.

Police said a 911 call was made at 2:21 a.m. on Wednesday for a person requesting EMS. LPD responded after dispatch determined the person was suffering a gunshot wound. LPD responded to the 2400 block of 46th Street and located a man with a gunshot wound to the chest.

As officers responded to that location, another call came in at 50th Street and University Avenue for a second man who had a gunshot wound on his bottom. LPD said the individual with the gunshot to the chest suffered serious injuries, and the second mad had moderate injuries. Both were taken to University Medical Center by ambulance.

Police said it appears the two were in a dispute that led to an altercation at Clapp Park. The investigation is ongoing…
