Billie Caviel, half of first Black couple to own a pharmacy, dies at 90

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Billie Caviel, a woman who helped break barriers in health care and made sure everyone in her community was cared for, died on Monday at the age of 90.

Her legacy lives on in the Caviel Museum of African American History in East Lubbock, housed in the same building where she spent decades serving families.
