LUBBOCK, Texas — According to a report from KHOU, a United Express flight bound for Houston was diverted to San Antonio after departing from Lubbock on Wednesday.

According to KHOU, on Wednesday morning, a passenger’s battery reportedly began smoking onboard the flight after leaving Lubbock. KHOU first noticed the incident on a social media post, then reached out to Mesa Airlines which operated the United Express flight.
