Lubbock suspect accused of shooting at deputy federally sentenced

LUBBOCK, Texas — Jaime Flores, 26, was been sentenced to 37 months in federal prison after previously agreeing to plead guilty to a federal charge of Convicted Felon in Possession of Firearms.

EverythingLubbock.com previously reported that on August 27, a deputy was shot at while conducting surveillance for a wanted felon. LCSO stated that the deputy was in an unmarked vehicle near 34th Street and Salem Avenue around 10 p.m., when suspects opened fire at him.

The deputy was able to drive away from the gunfire. Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the scene, detaining four suspects, with three being arrested, including Jaime Flores.
