LUBBOCK, Texas — Kristal Morse, the mother of the five-month-old baby that was pronounced deceased after non-accidental injuries, pleaded guilty to Aggravated Assault against a Family Member on Friday afternoon and was sentenced to 25 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice with 687 days of jail credit.

The affidavit obtained by EverythingLubbock.com revealed that the father, Casey Harbison, Morse and grandmother Tiffany Whalen were arrested in May 2024, after it was determined that the baby had suffered non-accidental injuries after he was brought to Covenant Children’s ER. The baby was described as, “cold and limp, and his eyes appeared to be rolling back.”
The affidavit also revealed that Morse admitted to investigators that she struck the baby in the back of the head.
