LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – No. 2 Texas Tech extended its win streak to 13 after defeating BYU (11-25, 2-10) 12-4 on Saturday afternoon in five innings at Tracy Sellers Field. The Red Raiders (38-2, 14-1) used 12 hits to get 12 runs as NiJaree Canady improved to 15-2 in the circle.
Mia Williams led the way on offense, going 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI including her 14th home run of the season. Mihyia Davis went 2-for-4 with a double and recorded her 29th stolen base of the season. Jasmyn Burns recorded three RBI after launching her eighth home run of the year. Lauren Allred and Kaitlyn Terry both recorded two RBI and a hit as well. Hailey Toney and Jackie Lis both recorded hits and runs as well.
Taylor Pannell went 1-for-3 with the winning RBI that score Logan Halleman from third to put the run-rule into effect and end another game early. Samantha Lincoln started the game and went 2.2 innings and posted three strikeouts. Canady came into the circle in relief and went 2.1 innings with three strikeouts as well to earn the win…
