Buffs Fall in the LSC Series Finale to Lubbock Christian, 12-1

CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Buffaloes couldn’t overcome big innings on Saturday afternoon as they dropped the Eastern Weekend Lone Star Conference series finale to the Lubbock Christian Chaps, 12-1 in eight inning at Wilder Park in Canyon.

The Buffs got on the board in the bottom of the opening frame on a Timothy Haynes RBI groundout with the bases loaded for the 1-0 lead. LCU responded in the top of the second with a Kyle Lewis squeeze bunt to score a run followed by a Jorge De Los Santos RBI single, Ryan Gargett drove in two with a single to right followed by hits from Owen Alsup and Freddie Nolen for the 6-1 lead.

Lubbock Christian added to their lead in the top of the third on a Hudson Grace two-run single to right for the 8-1 advantage. Pitching took over during the next few frames as Shea Lake and Bryce Nall kept the score at 8-1 until the top of the eighth inning when the Chaps pushed across four runs highlighted by an Alsup two-run triple for the 12-1 lead…
