LUBBOCK, Texas — The pedestrian fatality that occurred on Monday, April 6, marked the second person to be killed while walking on our roads in a short time period.
“Over the last two days, we have seen two pedestrian fatalities here in Lubbock. And that is a little outside the norm within a 48-hour period to see two fatalities like that. But overall, I would say that there’s not an increase in fatalities, just unfortunately, over the last two days, we have seen those tragic incidents,” shared Brady Cross with the Lubbock Police Department.
In a previous article from Everything Lubbock, statistics around fatal pedestrian crashes show that there was a reported decrease between 2024 and 2025. The total number of crashes went from 124 to 98.
