Lubbock catches a ton of heat, and not just the kind that makes us sweaty in the summer. Please LOVE to complain about this city. The wind. The dust. The lack of trees. Whatever it is. People complain.
But, for a place that gets dragged so often, there are some things that Lubbock actually does really well, and nobody mentions them nearly often enough.
First off, our local art and music scene is wildly underrated. For a city this size, the amount of talent here is ridiculous. Walk into any random bar on the weekend, and you’ll get an incredible performance from someone you’ve never heard of. The same goes for our artists. Painters, photographers, creators…there’s just SO much creativity here. It never gets the spotlight it deserves…
