Attention Lubbock: From April 1 through September 30, the city is implementing irrigation restrictions for the spring and summer seasons. This means your sprinklers in your front yard are indeed regulated for the next couple of months.

Lubbock Sprinkler Year-Round Restrictions

Let’s take a look at some city restrictions that all residents must adhere to. One major rule is that you may only irrigate your property two days per week. Now, before you panic, this does not apply to hand-watering . There is no limit on the amount of time you spend each week watering your plants with a pitcher or watering can.

The city restrictions are only for automated irrigation ranging from those large wheeled sprinkler carts you see on farms to front yard plastic sprinklers.

Your two assigned watering days each week correspond to the last digit in your address. For instance, if your home address ends in 0, 3, 4, or 9, then you may irrigate your property on Mondays and Thursdays . If your address ends in 1, 5, or 6, then Tuesdays and Fridays are for you. Finally, those with home addresses ending in 2, 7, or 8 are allowed to irrigate their properties on Wednesdays and Saturdays …
