One dead after Friday night shooting, LPD investigates

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit is currently investigating the 5900 block on Avenue P after officers responded to a report of shots fired on Friday, April 17 at 10:39 p.m., which left one person dead.

According to the Lubbock Police Department, when officers arrived, one person was seriously hurt and then transported by EMS, where they were later pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made. This appears to be an isolated event, and there is no threat to the public at this time, according to LPD…
