Terence Eteng Tambe, 38, the person behind “The 806er” Facebook page, was arrested Tuesday in the 4300 block of 50th Street for a probation violation. He was held Wednesday in the Lubbock County Detention Center without bond.
Tambe became well known in Lubbock as he built up his Facebook page to more than 40,000 followers and “more than a million views a day” with a combination of news, gossip, memes, opinion posts from his fans and information about music events. Content on the 806er has sometimes included articles and video interviews with local officials or local newsmakers.
