Who is Texas Tech’s New Masked Rider?
Allow me to introduce you to Sofie Jones, a Houston native and third-generation Red Raider who is officially the university’s 65th Masked Rider.

Jones is no stranger to the saddle, as she has been riding horses since the age of 3. Her passion for horse riding brought her all the way from barrel racing and equestrian events to Texas Tech’s animal science degree path.

The new Masked Rider continues to make the university proud by being an Honors College student and an active member of the Texas Tech Rodeo Team.
When it comes to caring for horses, that never seemed to slow her down when it comes to academics. “Taking care of them has never really felt like work to me,” Jones said. “I actually feel like it helps me with my strive for school.”
