LUBBOCK, Texas (NEWS RELEASE FROM LCSO) – The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office received a report of gunfire last night, 4/22/2026, at 7:20 pm. The caller reported they had shot and killed one person.
Lubbock County Sheriff’s deputies immediately responded to the 1600 block of 126th Street. Michael Joseph Owens, age 37, was located on the property with a fatal gunshot wound.
The caller, who reported they were also the shooter, was still on the property and turned himself in to law enforcement…
