Although we could see a reprieve later this week in the rainless spell that’s lasted a month, soil conditions in south central Wisconsin have become parched, and have now officially tipped into pre-drought status.
The USDA and National Weather Service’s U.S. Drought Monitor shows that Rock, Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Jefferson, and Walworth counties are all are designated as “abnormally dry,” which the agencies consider a precursor to true drought conditions…
