Greg Gard’s latest 4-star Baboucourr Ann news adds immediacy to Badger fans excitement

The story of the summer thus far for Wisconsin athletics has been recruiting. Between football’s dominance in the class of ‘27, volleyball’s typical high-profile talent acquisition and now basketball’s recent surge, things are looking brighter than ever in Madison. Men’s basketball in particular has really found its groove after multiple down years of not being able to bring in high-end talent from the high school ranks.

Landing Jalen Brown and Jack Thelen was likely enough to satisfy a majority of fans, as the Badgers are rarely able to land players with their kind of upside. However, following his visit to Madison this past Wednesday, top-60 recruit Baboucarr Ann has become more connected than ever to Wisconsin, with Rivals giving him a 93% chance to land with the Badgers.

Ann would overtake Brown as the highest-ranked recruit for the Badgers this decade, at least for now, with Ann being ranked the 63rd overall composite recruit. As I’m sure you can imagine, he didn’t earn that billing for no reason either, as Ann’s skill set is one that clearly warrants serious recruiting interest.
