SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (WMTV) – A Sun Prairie marching band member’s wrist injury nearly ended her time with the band. Instead, her band directors found a solution.
Senior drum major Alex Reinen played tuba for three years until wrist pain made performances difficult to complete. Rather than leave the band, Reinen worked with Sound of Sun Prairie directors Matt McVeigh and Mark Davison to switch to saxophone, allowing her to continue performing.
“My third year of sound was my last year playing tuba. I had really bad wrist issues and I could barely get through the season,” Reinen said. “I was so worried that I would not be able to come back because I just love this group so much.”…
