2 vehicles destroyed in garage fire that briefly shut down Highway 51

STOUGHTON, Wis. — An early morning fire caused officials to shutdown parts of Highway 51, west of Lake Kegonsa Tuesday. The road reopened at around 6:15 a.m.

In an update, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office said crews responded to a garage fire in the town of Dunn. The fire was reported just before 3 a.m. and firefighters from McFarland, Oregon, and Stoughton went to the scene.

The fire started in an attached garage in the 2200 block of Highway 51 and moved to a house. Nobody was inside the house or garage when emergency personnel arrived. There were two vehicles in the garage…
