MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Police arrested six people since Tuesday night after unrest on Williamson and Baldwin Street.
City of Madison crews went in early Tuesday morning to clear the encampment that has formed at the memorial for 38-year-old Corey Ruiz, who was shot and killed by a Madison Police Department officer on Wednesday, July 22.
Around 8 p.m., protesters wearing hazmat suits and protective gear returned to the intersection. Tents were put back up in the area. MPD said people told officers things were “about to get bad.”
