Quick qualifier. My Badger fandom started in earnest in the early 2000’s, but I was told so much about the entirety of the Alvarez Era that I’ve gone back and watched every game I could get my hands on since the early 90’s. I realize there are quarterbacks like Randy Wright that should probably be included in this list, but I simply never saw him play. I’d love to hear from more experienced Badger fans about where they think some of those other guys should fall in this list!
With that said, here are my top 5 Badger quarterbacks of all-time with a justification for each of my rankings.
1. Darrell Bevell – Still the career passing yards and touchdowns leader of all-time, this was a no brainer for me. Before the totally dominant run game era, Darrell saw a lot of the responsibility for offensive production fall on his shoulders and he answered the bell in a huge way…
