MADISON, Wis. — Chris Elholm’s north side home depends on diesel fuel oil for heat, and her recent bills illustrate the severity of the price surge. In January, she paid $2.97 per gallon. By March, that price had climbed to $4.32. Now, she’s being quoted more than $6 per gallon.
