Local opposition to transmission line be part of ‘A Day of Power’ in Madison

MADISON — The Town of Beloit resolution opposing a $1.2 billion high voltage transmission line that could wind through Rock County will be one of 69 such votes by local governments that will be presented to state legislators on Oct. 13.

No 765 Line Inc., a nonprofit group formed specifically to oppose two multi-billion-dollar transmission line projects slated to cross Southern Wisconsin, has organized “A Day of Power” in Madison.

It will start with an educational session at Monona Terrace at 10 a.m. At 1 p.m., residents from 10 Wisconsin counties, including Jefferson, Rock and Walworth, will begin legislative office visits. It will conclude with a 4:30 p.m. press conference…
