Woman struck by vehicle, injured while crossing downtown Madison street

MADISON, Wis. — Madison police said a woman was taken to a hospital Tuesday night after she was struck by a vehicle downtown.

The crash occurred at around 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of West Gorham and North Carroll Streets. Police said the woman was walking in the crosswalk when she was hit, and her injuries were not life-threatening.

The driver involved did not show signs of impairment, and they were cited for inattentive driving and failure to yield to a pedestrian.

An investigation is ongoing.
