MADISON, Wis. — The Badgers are back in the Top 10 for the first time in two years, rising seven spots to No. 6 in this week’s Associated Press poll.
This is Wisconsin’s first time in the AP Top 10 since the Feb. 28, 2022 poll. Johnny Davis and Tyler Wahl both had double-digit scoring performances against Minnesota and Rutgers during the week prior to that poll’s release.
The Badgers scored a tight win over Minnesota and a comfortable victory over Michigan State last week to extend their winning run to three games. Wisconsin also benefitted from Kansas, Kentucky, Arizona, Illinois and Auburn all getting upset.
The Top 5 teams did not move at all, with No. 1 Connecticut leading the country followed by Purdue, North Carolina, Houston and Tennessee.
Wisconsin has an away game with Nebraska on Thursday before a clash of titans this weekend with major March Madness implications. Wisconsin and No. 2 Purdue square off at the Kohl Center on Sunday at noon, with the game airing live on WISC-TV.
