Madison police arrest four teens who crashed stolen vehicle last week

MADISON, Wis. — Madison police arrested four teens who they said crashed a stolen vehicle last week.

An officer reportedly saw a Hyundai sedan driving recklessly in the Midtown District at around 10:45 a.m. on Jan. 26. The officer followed the vehicle and found it crashed near the intersection of South Midvale Ave. and Waite Lane.

Police said four people ran from the vehicle. Officers responding in the area were able to find three teens. Another was found hiding in a nearby backyard.

A 16-year-old male, a 15-year-old male, and two 13-year-old boys were arrested and face charges of operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent as a party to a crime.

Police said the sedan involved in the incident was a rental vehicle.
