Madison police arrest 2 in shots fired incident near East Towne Mall

MADISON, Wis. — Madison police arrested two people on Thursday in connection with a shots fired incident that occurred earlier this week.

Police said a 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were arrested at a hotel in the 4800 block of East Washington Ave. Thursday afternoon. A gun was recovered during the arrest.

The arrest comes days after a report of shots fired in the 2100 block of East Springs Drive. Officers found evidence of the gunshots but not injuries or property damage was reported.

The man faces charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and recklessly endangering safety. The woman was arrested on a probation hold.

Police did not release the name of the woman.
