MADISON, Wis. — Crews at Madison Fire Station 14 didn’t have to go too far to respond to an RV fire Thursday night.
Officials said the owner of the RV knocked on the station’s door along Dairy Drive to report the fire at around 10 p.m. He told crews he was watching TV when the lights flickered.
The lights flickered a second time, then dimmed. He then noticed a glow coming from outside the passenger-side door of the RV, at which point he discovered the fire and ran to the station for help.
Crews arrived near the intersection of Dairy and Blazing Star Drives to find the vehicle engulfed in flames. Nobody else was inside or in need of rescue, and the fire was quickly extinguished. Firefighters found a generator next to the RV that had been completely destroyed.
