A Sun Prairie woman was seriously injured in a two-vehicle and the driver arrested on felony charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated Sunday afternoon.
According to a report from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the crash just west of Waunakee at 3:43 p.m. on Sunday. According to the report, Abhishek Singh, age 44, was traveling eastbound on Hwy. 19 when his Mercedes crossed the centerline, hitting a westbound Nissan Versa.
The 63-year-old Sun Prairie woman driving the Nissan had to be extricated from the vehicle, and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Singh and his passenger were also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
He is tentatively charged with Operating While Intoxicated with a passenger under the age of 16 years and 2nd Degree Reckless Endangerment. He also received multiple citations. Singh is currently being held in the Dane County Jail. The crash remains under investigation by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
