Criticism mounts against one Madison superintendent finalist

Robert Eccles said he was shocked when he learned Mohammed Choudhury would be a finalist for superintendent of the Madison Metropolitan School District. A former program specialist who left the job to care for his father, Eccles worked at the Maryland Department of Education during Choudhury’s tenure there as state superintendent of schools. Eccles witnessed what he described as Choudhury’s “tyrannical” leadership, which he said included delayed projects, poor communication and the mistreatment of subordinates.
