Federal judge sentences La Crosse man to 5 years for drug charges

MADISON (WKBT) — A federal judge in Madison has sentenced a La Crosse man to 5 years in prison for drug trafficking.

43-year-old Alfredo Almanza pleaded guilty in October to charges of meth possession for distribution and maintaining a drug trafficking place.

An investigation in March 2023 turned up more than 280 grams of methamphetamine at Almanza’s home and cell phone communications involving the sale of drugs.

Almanza already had a prior conviction for meth distribution, according to the DOJ release.
